Packages

What’s included in the monthly fee?

Our limited company accounting packages start from £109 + VAT per month. Every package includes your annual accounts, Corporation Tax return, confirmation statement (including the standard Companies House fee), payroll for one director, one director’s personal tax return, Xero, tax investigation insurance (subject to eligibility and policy terms), an annual accounts meeting, a 30-minute tax planning review and everyday accounting and tax questions. VAT return review and filing is included from £149 + VAT per month.

Which package is right for me?

It’s based on your company’s annual turnover, and on whether you need us to file your VAT returns. Turnover is the starting point, though. On a short discovery call we check the package fits, and if your business needs something different we’ll tell you before you commit.

What happens if my turnover changes?

We review your turnover every quarter when we prepare your VAT returns. If your company isn’t VAT registered, we review it at appropriate points through the year, including when we prepare your annual accounts. If a change in turnover means a different package, we’ll talk it through and agree the new fee with you before it applies.

Do the packages work for sole traders and partnerships?

The four packages are designed for limited companies. We do work with sole traders and partnerships too. Request a callback and we’ll talk through what you need.

What if my turnover is over £1 million?

We’ll give you a tailored quote. For companies with turnover over £1 million, an increased insurance premium applies. Book a call and we’ll talk through what your company needs.

Services

Is bookkeeping included?

No. The packages cover your accounts, tax and compliance, and assume your bookkeeping is kept up to date. If you’d like us to do your bookkeeping, we can, and we’ll quote for it based on what your business needs.

Do you file VAT returns?

Yes, from the £149 package upwards. We review your figures, make reasonable corrections and file the return with HMRC. It’s a review of properly kept records, not full bookkeeping. The £109 package doesn’t include VAT return review or filing by MBS, so if you need us to file your VAT returns you’ll need the £149 package or above, whatever your turnover. If your company is VAT registered but files its own returns, that’s fine on any package.

What about payroll for employees?

Payroll for one director is included. Each additional employee is £9 + VAT per employee, per payslip. We’ll check your payroll frequency and anything unusual on your discovery call.

Can you do more than one personal tax return?

Yes. One director’s personal tax return is included, and each additional standard return is £10 + VAT a month. More complex returns may need a separate quote.

Is tax investigation insurance included?

Yes. Tax investigation insurance is included in all four packages, subject to eligibility and policy terms. For companies with turnover over £1 million, an increased insurance premium applies.

Software

Which Xero plan is included?

The £109 package includes Xero Ignite, subject to its usage limits. The £149, £169 and £199 packages include Xero Grow. Xero Ignite lets you send up to 20 sales invoices and enter up to 10 bills a month. If you send more than 20 sales invoices a month, we’ll look at the right software with you before you start.

Can I use my own accounting software?

Already have suitable accounting software of your own, such as Xero, QuickBooks Online or FreeAgent? Because we don’t need to supply the subscription, you save £18 a month on the £109 package (which otherwise includes Xero Ignite), or £39 a month on the £149, £169 and £199 packages (which otherwise include Xero Grow). The discount is subject to your software being suitable, which we’ll confirm on your discovery call.

Switching

Can I change accountants partway through the year?

Yes. You don’t have to wait for your year-end. We contact your current accountant, handle the professional handover and get set up to act for you with HMRC and Companies House. How long it takes depends on your previous accountant and your records, and we’ll keep you updated.

Is there an onboarding fee?

No, there’s no standard onboarding fee. If there’s catch-up work, such as overdue filings or historical corrections, we’ll quote for it separately and agree it with you first.

What if my records aren’t in great shape?

The fixed prices assume your records are reasonably complete, accurate and reconciled. If they need significant correction or catching up, we’ll explain what’s needed and quote for it before doing any work. If records stay difficult to work with, we may suggest our bookkeeping service so everything runs smoothly.

Working with us

Can I ask questions whenever I need to?

Yes. We’re here when you need us for everyday accounting questions. If something needs more substantial work, like specialist tax advice, extra meetings or a bigger project, we’ll always discuss it with you and agree any fee first.

What if I need extra accounting work?

Just ask. We’ll explain what’s involved and give you a price before we start, so there are no surprises on your invoice.

Do your prices include VAT?

No. All our prices are shown plus VAT. Our limited company accounting packages start from £109 + VAT per month.

Ready for accounting without the surprises?

Fixed monthly fees from £109 + VAT. Book a friendly discovery call, or leave your number and we’ll ring you.
